I have a cousin who is a humanities professor at a prestigious university. She spouts all the leftwing nonsense in public but, privately, she is as conservative as I am. When I asked her to explain once, she said “It is simple. I spout the nonsense to get and keep my job. I vote conservatively because only a free capitalist society can generate the wealth to support the nonsensical world of academia in which I have to work.”
