And thus aesthetic criteria enter into science. (Aesthetics being a subject matter of philosophy). Fuller was not alone in applying the "beauty test" to his work. Others have done likewise, for example, Albert Einstein and Paul Dirac. That Beauty is a guide to Truth is an ancient idea [i.e., from the classical Greeks] that evidently never dies — because it has the virtue of being "true."

All the "really good stuff" at its core has the quality of timelessness.

Or so it seems to me, FWIW.

Also seems like a good time to get to know Buckminster Fuller better....

Indeed. For instance, the term "elegant" always comes to mind when thinking of Relativity.

The title "Elegant Universe" was perfect for Dr. Greene's book on the subject.
