This looks like good news for Haley Barbour fans. Count me as one except for that nagging little issue about him agreeing with Kelo.

Forget it, he’s old news. Ex-Republican lobbyist he’ll just continue the status-quo.

I’m a big fan of Haley Barbour. I never heard anything about Kelo.

He vetoed a bill that would limit imminent domain.

If I go to the booth in a primary and had to choose between Barbour and Palin, I’d call that a “good problem”. I’d choose Palin, however.

Southern, middle aged white man and former tobacco lobbyist with an accent thicker than my south Georgia drawl. Just what the majority says they do not want. I just do not see him winning a national election unless and until the political pendulum swings way back right.

No, and not on the national stage. I agree that he's probably not electable, but we need the biggest number of right of center candidates as possible. I want the discussion to be about freedom and liberty being the things that drive prosperity. I DO NOT want to see any RINO crap talking about a Big Tent and reaching across the aisle. Screw that crap!

Let’s just discount the masterful job he has done governing Mississippi.

Let’s rehash old crap and slam him.

I’m about as “un”-southern as it gets and I like Haley Barbour.

“we need the biggest number of right of center candidates as possible”

Why? So they can all split the vote and hand it to a RINO like Pawlenty, Crist, or McCain?

We need ONE, good strong conservative, so we don’t have to worry about vote splitting.

That person, IMHO, is Sarah Palin.

That's an interesting position and I see the logic. However, I still want the debate to center around freedom and liberty. All talk MUST be positive and the pitfalls of a lack of liberty must be well illustrated. Liberal candidates will muddy the water.

thats exactly what we don't need. we need to rally behind a good conservative candidate early. If we end up with 4 conservatives and 1 RINO, the RINO wins.

Haley Barbour is a good man.

Palin and Barbour would make a good team.

Sad to say, Sarah has been marginalized by the media/joke machine. Too many see her as a joke so she can’t—at this point—win a national election. Maybe in time that will change and I hope it does. Sarah should run for Senate and build her national base before another run at the White House. The GOP needs new blood—the old timers show bow out—McCain should retire after his defeat, Newt should wait to become a VP or Sec. of State, Mitt should wait to be Sec. of Treasury. We need a new generation of Conservatives.

That’s what the media wants you to believe.

"Mitt should wait to be Sec. of Treasury."

Why wait ? That incompetent, bankrupting Socialist could apply to the current regime to replace Geithner.

Good point. Anyone including Ronald McDonald could do a better job.
