VDH gives 4 answers that are all correct, but I think he misses one: Obama is a sociopath. Probably all dictators have been. Sociopathic personalities are not bound by reality when it gets in the way of getting what they want, and they regard real facts and real people as simply something to be manipulated or gotten around. They are very good liars because the truth has no value to them. Sociopaths have, in a sense, no inner core and exist only in the way that they are affirmed from outside. Therefore, everyone around them must affirm them and empower them, and if this means creating a whole different "reality," so be it

He really does. I think people like VDH and Rush, as you point out, realize this but in many ways it's so unimagineable and everybody is so stunned by this that it's hard even to say it. But they are saying it more overtly every day.
