Sens. Chuck Schumer and John Cornyn each spent over $140,000 in taxpayer money on travel in the first half of the fiscal year — about 10 times as much as some of their Senate colleagues.

Cornyn, a Texas Republican, topped the list by taking costly charter flights around his state and spending nearly $40,000 on a retreat in Maryland for 59 staffers.

Schumer, a New York Democrat, was close behind, routinely flying private charters to cities in his state served by commercial airlines, a report by Politico disclosed.

Politico cited one trip Schumer made in early December, when he spent $4,000 to fly round-trip on a private plane between New York City and Albany. Commercial fares on that route can be as low as $200.

No wonder Cornyn is acting like a RINO prima donna lately. He is one.

Not that I ever knew. He was good until his re-election...no! until he voted for the bailout.

I’m not trying to ecourage spendthrift Congress people but frankly, $40,000 on a retreat for 59 staffers is very cheap. Now the more important question is why the heck he needs 59 staffers?

...compare these losers to Clarence Thomas...

"I was amazed this guy knew so much about us as football players and as people," said (Terrence) Stephens. "That was shocking. I felt honored to be known by someone of his caliber. He was just a regular old guy, sitting in coach, which really shocked me."

Senators and Representatives rip us off. We pay $250,000 for ‘date night’ in NYC for Zero. We pay ???? for Michelle Antoinette and the little girls and Grandma to go to Paris and London. Wow. I guess our elected elites really don’t care about the little people.

I think both men are in charge of their respective party’s Senatorial elections...NRSC and whatever the Socialists call theirs...DRSC, maybe?

Folks, this is just another diversion tactic to make the “all parties are equally corrupt” line look plausible.

The fact is, Obama and his lapdogs in the press and Congress are bent on destroying America. We have to keep our focus on the problems they are causing. All the rest is distraction.

"Was Cornyn always like this??"

Cornyn and Schumer are the campaign managers. Ensign had the job before Cornyn.
