This is typical of leftist illiteracy. But it also serves a purpose. If you can’t speak the language, you an’t speak to the peopns and thus there isn’t evena remote chance that you might ever find out what life is like for them and how they feel.

No, they don’t. Those people don’t count to them. Meeting them would “harsh my mellow” or bring down their high or whatever self-involved fantasy term they use.

I love how they seemed to blame their treason on the horrors of the Bush Administration, when in fact they became Communist spies under JIMMY CARTER, the most “progressive” Democrat president between Roosevelt and Obama.
The other thing I noticed was how fluidly these people moved between traditional liberal-left worlds (the Senate Democrat caucus, Natinal Geographic magazine) and service to a Stalinist-Communist government. Very reminiscent of the days of Alger Hiss and Harry Dexter White.
There’s also an interesting psychological phenomenon in which people who know they have committed horrible crimes throw themselves into “progressive” causes as a form of absolution.
