Any 'good' reason for that? Many. Besides the cost involved, doing things that you know are just going to make the situation in the Middle East even worse is not a good idea.

I may be in a distinct minority here, but I agree with you 100%.
The U.S. has long had a policy of keeping its embassies out of areas whose jurisdiction was under dispute . . . which was why it was located in Tel Aviv in the first place.
