Liberty County Sheriffs officials are expected to meet with the FAA on Tuesday to discuss what a Continental Express pilot reported as a missile or rocket flying near his airplane. A pilot reported to the Federal Aviation Administration that at about 8:15 p.m. Friday, an object passed within 150 feet beneath the aircraft, sheriffs officials said. The aircraft was near the southern edge of the county, flying at about 13,000 feet, officials said. The pilot, from what we understand, was former military. He was able to get the coordinates down real quick, said Cpl. Hugh Bishop with the Liberty County Sheriffs Department. Sheriffs deputies searched Friday night for signs of evidence where a missile might have been launched or landed. We couldnt find anything, Bishop said.

Great.....with all the technology we have and we can’t tell where a missle landed? Give me a break.
Iranian 4th of July fireworks a tab bit premature?
Oh, and BTW, probably less than 25 miles from the other incident last year involving a “missle”.
Someone firing off a cheap 4th of July bottle rocket to 13000 feet. Nothing to see here. Move along!
Probably just some fun and games from one of the 30+ terrorist training camps I hear we have in the U.S.
It’s a UFO...
“Not bird, nor plane, nor even frog...”
Technically.
Otherwise . . . who knows. I don’t have a clue.
INDEED.
LOL.
Wellll the mooslymbs are probably practicing for the grand festivities looming on the near horizon.
Nothing to see here...
I would not be so quick to dismiss this Pilot as it is detrimental to a Pilots career to make a false or inflammatory statement.
INDEED.
“Just little ol’ me..Underdog!”
Could possibly have been a high-power model rocket. I’ve launched my personal ones to 5K feet, and I’m a rank beginner. I think the record stands somewhere near 98K feet for an extreme one. Our local FAA waiver for the rocket club here ( the FAA closes airspace for the launch days around the site) is 15K feet. That is more than the altitude in the article.
“Because a shoulder-launched missile can only hit its target within three miles, an airplane is safe once it reaches a combined altitude and distance from the airport of 15,000 feet.”

Lately these are coming more to the surface on what is truly happening with the UFO sightings being seen all over the planet....
I believe you’re right.
Thanks.
