New York: Micro-Stamping Bill To Be Heard In Senate Codes Committee Tomorrow! |
Monday, June 01, 2009 |
Contact Your State Senator Immediately! Senate Bill 4397, sponsored by State Senator Eric Schneiderman (D-31), is a bill that would ban the sale of all semi-automatic handguns not equipped with micro-stamping technology. Micro-stamping is an unproven technology that would require unique identifying information from the firearm, including the make, model, and serial number to be etched into the firing pin and breech face in such a manner that those identifiers are imprinted on the cartridge case upon firing. The technology can easily be defeated with common household tools, has no public safety value, and adds substantially to the cost of the firearm. Its companion bill, Assembly Bill 6468, sponsored by State Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel (D-16), has already passed the Assembly Floor. S4397 has been added to the Senate Codes Committee agenda for tomorrow, Tuesday June 2 at 10:30 A.M. It is critical that you contact members your State Senator TODAY and respectfully urge them to OPPOSE this measure! Your State Senator can be contacted through the Senate switchboard at (518) 455-2800. To find your State Senator, please click here. |
Only a braindead politician would think that this idiocy is actually going to work. Politicians should be required to take a course on firearms before they are allowed to go to Washington and make laws involving firearms.
These idiots are in Albany, NY.
Term limits 4 years then go home these people are completely worthless and do not realize what they are doing.
AU contraire! They realize fully what they are doing -- attempting an "end run" at infringing the 2nd Amendment.
One legal way to defeat the purported purpose of this stupid bill:
Another way:
File off the stamp from the firing pin.
Corrupt the "crime scene" with police range brass.
They’re trying to pull this same BS in WI.
Thanks for the ping!
Simplest: use a revolver or pick up your brass...
File off the stamp from the firing pin.
Corrupt the “crime scene” with police range brass.
_______________
LOL...BINGO
Yet another extremely espensive, useless, “feel good,” measure by the anti-gunners to legislate away the Second Amendment via the back door.
Criminals, of course, will simply use revolvers and decline to leave their brass behind.
Meanwhile, the taxpayers are dunned for more legislative nonsense producing yet another layer of high-priced bureaucracy and yet more faceless commissars enthusiastically exercising powers over the public to which, according to our ever-weakening constution, neither these same commissars nor The State are entitled.
Yeah I like the revolver Idea.
Put hand and semi-auto in small plastic bag.
Fire at will.
Remove hand and brass is in the bag.
Remove hand and brass is in the bag."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yeah -- riiiiight...
Noob, have you ever fired a handgun, specifically a semi-auto?
Go ahead, put your hand in a small, gas-tight bag with a handgun -- and fire it. Then get back to us on how your hand feels/looks...
Also, my P7 tosses all its brass in a one-yard circle ten feet back and to my right -- so I put down a plastic tarp to save picking the brass out of the grass.
When it landed, the brass was still so hot it melted through the tarp. Ruined my brass -- and the tarp.
Good luck with that plastic bag idea! Let us know how it works for you...
I have a number of welts from hot brass. The ones that get me are the newb's girlfriends wearing tank tops. It's really almost funny seeing a gal jumping around trying to shake a hot shell case out of her cleavage.
#2 is tried and proven..
