American capitalism gone with a whimper
Pravda ^ | May 29, 2009 | Stanislav Mishin

Posted on 06/01/2009 7:05:05 PM PDT by Jay777

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America.

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

Not much to argue with in the commentary. How many times have the same points been made on FR by the Right.

The early colonials had more than a passing acquaintance with Cicero. Yeah, Marcus Tullius Cicero. Even people like Daniel Boone, but especially ALL of the Founding Fathers.

The Pilgrims Progress was read by frontiersmen. The Bible was also regularly read by these men who also hunted and farmed and ran businesses and came up with new ideas for a republic based on what they’d read of Greek and Roman history.

The influence of “the great books of the western world” on the terminology, thought process, and decisions of the Founding Fathers is enormous. One of the BIGGEST problems today is that there are few Congress Critters who have read Cicero’s “The Republic and the Laws”

And as far as a SCOTUS goes, NO ONE should be allowed to sit on that high court who does not have a working knowledge of Latin and who has not read most of the same books that our Founding Fathers had read as well as the books written by our Founding Fathers.

I think we can salvage the USofA . . . but it will take effort and perseverance and a boat-load of prayers. And WE (you and I) would do well to read up on Cicero, too.

I posted this on an earlier thread, it explains that what we are seeing on the web recently is not the Print version of Pravda (mouthpiece of the Communist Party), but a totally different Pravda from the web.

Hear is a partial response to an e-mail from the author of a similar article. The “Pravda” that the article originated from is not the one the is the Commie Party mouthpiece.

“This is not the same Pravda you are thinking of. Pravda.ru was started in 1999, I believe, and is a semi-nationalist paper. Pravda the printed news paper is the communist mouth piece. Also in most Russian news stands each party has their own political paper, so there are dozen major papers to choose from.”

This helped me understand the striking change in articles, it is literally not the same “Pravda”.

Listening to a CNBC round table in progress. Sounds like a Russian news network. Except for Jack Walsh and one other, all scum bag guests think Capitalism is dead. Of course they are on the public “titty”. Where in the hell did the scumbag CEO of Citibank come from?

Hey Stanislav Mishin, we can lecture you stupid, slimy idiots about your “democracy” because we haven’t murdered tens of millions of our own citizens or shipped them off to gulags like your blood soaked countrymen did.

We haven’t done that. Yet.

So, I’ll take one of our fat cheeseburger stuffing sheeple over one of your immoral and criminal countrymen any day.

It is a lot easier to lose fat and get an education than it is to wash blood off of your hands.

We are in treacherous hands. There are those in the highest echelons of American power who are intent upon destroying the Constitution.

But rumors of our demise are greatly exaggerated.

Help us Lord.
