Actually, the myth is believing we're descended from apes. Most bacteria is beneficial to the human body. The Fall more than likely precipitated the mutation of some of bacteria into virulent strains the human body could'nt defend.

There are far more holes in evolution than there are in Creation and Catastrophism.

Not only are you descended from apes, you are an ape. Under Linnaean taxonomy Homo Sapiens is a member of family Hominidae (great apes).
