I’m glad the new Va GOP chair is a guy from NoVa. The GOP has really fared poorly in that region. One reason is that recent GOP candidates decided to blow off NoVa (like Kilgore). This ticket seems at willing to compete for votes up north.
McDonnell and Cuccinelli both have strong ties in NOVA.
Very good convention, big turnout and a lot of enthusiasm. I guess a Republican has to win in Fairfax before our delegation gets seats with a view of the stage ;)
I thought the most interesting points were mentioned by both Brownlee and Cuccinelli when they talked about the role of AG in protecting Virginia’s sovereignty, particularly wrt to card check. Sounded like both thought that, and other overreaches by Obama/Pelosi/Reid, could and would be challenged under the 10th amendment. Maybe I’m a little slow, but card check as a 10th amendment issue hadn’t occurred to me before.
I’ve got to look up his name. I believe his first name was Adnon. I was in tears by the time he finished. Without a doubt, he not only brought the house down, he then raised it back up and then some.
No other speaker during the convention, including Sean Hannity, got such thunderous applause and cheers and standing O after standing O.
A young Palestinian/Kuwaiti without a country has become a member of the Va. Tech Cadets and an American citizen. The love he expressed for his new home was touching and inspiring.
I swear, as he spoke, eagles soared overhead.
It’s good to see you posting again Flora.
Ditto that. We’ve missed you!
Thanks, I’ve missed you, too. We moved to Midlothian last fall among other major life changes. Time to get back in the swing of things. Keep me on the ping list.
Look good to me. I hope the Democrats keep attacking each other for the next week - it’ll help us in the election.
Later that afternoon, on my way home, I saw that they had placed signs every 5 feet, all through downtown Hampton.
What an ugly sight. It amounted to littering as far as I was concerned. It doesn't matter that it was for the opposition, it was just plain ugly.
I'm going to write to the Daily Press and the City of Hampton to complain.
Geeze, I was going to vote for McDonald until I saw the 101st McAuliffe sign. That convinced me that Terry was our man. /s
McAwful has been doing overkill on the signs since the Shad Planking.
Adnan Barqawi - absolutely the best speaker of the convention. I really hope it is put up on YouTube. It’s an honor to call him an American.
I checked YouTube again. Cuccinelli’s speech has been posted since yesterday.

He was plastering signs before the shad planking. There were zillions of them at the Ukrops Monument Ave 10K. I really had to restrain myself from pulling them all down.
Maelstorm found it!
Cadet Colonel Adnan Barqawi:”Impossible is Nothing...” (Best Speech I’ve heard in a long time)

We had a GREAT time at the RPV convention in Richmond.... Our ticket of McDonnell/Bolling/Cuccinelli is the best and most conservative ticket we have had in years!!
Also, congratulations to RPV Chairman Pat Mullins on his re-election!
Bolling is not governor material. Plain and simple.
Gee. Who amongst us knew that Pat Muldoon was a Freeper?
Bill Bolling is most decidedly gubernatorial material. Just not this time.
Feel free to explain why you believe that to be true. And remember, you’re assessing him as a candidate for 2013.
“Wasnt Bolling one of Romneys people?”
DJ is speaking favorably about him so this is impossible! ;)
Romney is politicking for McDonnell and Bolling but I wouldn’t hold that against them.
I would.
