Why do homosexuals need society's blessing for their unions?

They seek ceremonious sanctification and esoteric absolution in some type of marriage rite, but that still fails to give them a connection to the eternal in both a religious and temporal, procreant sense - - the union does not produce offspring.

Dissatisfaction with inevitable mortality only feeds the impoverishment of the ego further. Homosexuals really hate human life; their whole desire is rooted in the destruction of it...

I wonder if they would prefer a swim with a millstone around their necks to what He has in store for them at Judgement?!

The pastors have scheduled a news conference ...

Art and Anne (if I may refer to them in the familiar (I don't respect them enough not too)) are not pastors. They are activists who have found themselves occupying positions they never should have been allowed near. Yhey are technicians who know the appropriate religious jargon.

Isn’t the Congregational “Church” of today just a club for atheists who want somewhere to go on the occasional Sunday morning?

Either choice is fine with me, and the sooner the better.

What is the downside? If heterosexual couples want to get married they can go outside the land of Pagans.

Yeah, if only he knew, William Bradford would rise from his grave and smite them hip and thigh.

A visit to the website of the First Congregational Church of Glendale reveals the following notice:

"We are currently searching for new ministerial leadership. If you are interested in submitting your profile and hold ordinained ministerial standing, please contact the Southern California Nevada Conference of the United Church of Christ for more information. Thank you!"

It seems to me that this church is badly in need of radically new "ministerial leadership".

Why do homosexuals need society's blessing for their unions?

Even better question: why do so many aging hippies/liberals support this 'right'? Weren't these the ones that spent their college years smoking dope and saying that a man and a woman didn't need a government paper (marriage license) to confirm their 'union'?

well if certain folks in that church have been looking for a reason to leave, or one final straw, this could certainly be it.

Yep, she does.

I don’t.

Between the two of us, we’ve got a full collection.

California dreaming theology: forgive certain ones their debts and trespasses, don’t get funky about the monkey, don’t think, feel, imagine, and don’t step on my blue suede shoes.

So the churches won’t get the money they usually charge for renting the church out and the ministers won’t get their extra money either, who is really hurt by that?

Are the churches "congressional" or "congregational"? I think it is the latter.

Pastor who advocate violation of the clear teaching of Scripture should step away from the pulpit!

There’s no tantrum like that thrown by the left when they lose. Go ahead, sit down and pout and hold your breath until you’re blue.

Rev. Art Cribbs of San Marino Congressional Church and Rev. Anne Cohen of the First Congressional Church in Glendale will no longer be performing wedding ceremonies.

That's fine. All the real pastors will continue to perform all the real marriages in all these areas. No one will notice your little tirade.

Wow the pastor is not going to marry anyone i am so not caring what this pastor does. I wonder if he feels that by doing this the law will change. No I don't think so. Face the facts people Californian’s have made a choice deal with it.
