Thats the plan from two Southern California pastors, who are getting out of the marriage business.
Rev. Art Cribbs of San Marino Congressional Church and Rev. Anne Cohen of the First Congressional Church in Glendale will no longer be performing wedding ceremonies.
Gay, straight, traditional, opposite -- no ceremonies of any type will be performed.
The pastors decision is in response to the California Supreme Courts decision to uphold Proposition 8, the ban on same-sex marriage. The justices also ruled that about 18,000 same-sex couples who married between June and the November 2008 election -- a period when the high court had ruled in favor of same-sex marriages -- would remain legally betrothed.
The pastors have scheduled a news conference for Friday afternoon to discuss the decision. Check back this afternoon for more information from that event.
They probably already did.
Who would want to get married in these churches anyway? Don’t they have pentagrams painted on the ceiling?
Mixed sex couples will find some sane clergy to marry them but gay pairs can’t. All is as it should be!!! Their protest is a lot of hot air!!!

I’m sure there are plenty of civilized countries in the world that would do regular man-woman marriages. Canada and Mexico are close enough.
Well, can we stop calling them Christian ministers then?
2 pastors/reverends out of how many in California? The U.S.?
Las Vegas sends its regards and thanks you for the increased business.
Sounds kinda political.
What is a “Congressional” church? Do they mean “Congregational”?
A “Congressional Church” would recognize screwing the taxpayers as a sacrament, I suppose....
Pastors of the “church” of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Disgusting pukes are an abomination to God Almighty.
It is their right to perform or not perform wedding ceremonies as they see fit.
> Since homosexuals can’t have kids, their congregations
> should stop having children too...
An astute observation, but far too sensible for the emotional spoiled brat inside of every Liberal and Leftist. It will only serve to turn them purple with rage. They may even threaten to hold their breath and stamp their feet.
Why don’t these two just quit the church business? If they can’t uphold God’s word; than they don’t need to be there.

Side point. Why can’t homosexuals have kids? Was that part of the proposition?
Figures
They’re Congregationalists
The Congregationalists were taken over in the late 70’s by liberals/pagans
I didn’t leave my church, it left me!!
(I loved the simplicity & austere nature of the Congregationalists It was the church of the pilgrims. I was married in the church, all my kids were baptized there. My parents were buried through that church. I weep for what it has become)

sounds like they were ministers from the back of Rolling Stone magazine. (ala 60’s draft dodging)
Why can’t homosexuals have kids?
Because they collectively don’t have all the necessary parts.
One has to appreciate true religious conviction. /s
Well, as long as they make their political point clear..../s
