The earliest publication of “Washington’s Vision” that I’ve found was in the 24 June 1861 Philadelphia Inquirer. That December, it was published in the Pittsfield Gazette, and the following April in the New Hampshire Sentinel.

The argument is that this was Union propaganda ... to create support for the war effort. It certainly is of interest to research.

It could have been published in 1861 , but after Washington had this vision, he had a orderly dispatched to his office, and talked to him for over a hour.... Washington could have had it dictated and written down.
From what I read, he told many over the 22 years before he died.... even if it was finally published in 1861 does not mean it was a hoax and made up by propagandist of the Union....
The uncanny accuracy of events happening now to what the last peril that the USA is going to endue is not to be taken lightly.
Just last night I heard on Coast to Coast of this man who predicted about 6 years ago that after the US sinks one of it's own battle ships in the ocean ( tests .. and to make a coral reef ) that, that would be a signal, the UN would send troops to invade the USA....
