The wife of Arizona State Treasurer Dean Martin passed away Monday night shortly after giving birth to the couple's firstborn son.

This is the first I have heard and I’m in AZ. My heart and condolences to Dean and the family. He seems like such a good guy. What a terrible thing. I’m so glad that the baby survived. My prayers are with them.

That must have happened in the time since I posted this. At the time I posted there were only three comments and they were all of the condolences variety.
Then again, there were disgustingly snarky commentary about a shooting at a graduation party over the weekend where some said the woman shot probably deserved it and others thought it a reason to ban guns for anyone not police or military.
That said, I am not trying to hijack my own thread.
