Saving Notre Dame: Looking back at Jenkins, Barack—and "the crying baby"
Fighting Irish Thomas ^ | 05-23-09 | Tom O'Toole

In my last of a series of reflections on Barack Obama's Notre Dame appearance, I will focus on the speech itself and Fr. Jenkins' words (and lies) leading up to it. While many pro-lifers now seem sad that there was no one in the arena (save a few brave hecklers) to counter the cleverly deceiving abortion addresses by the priest and the president, I contend their lies were subtly undercut by the most poetically appropriate protestor possible—the cries of a baby.

Who wants to save Notre Dame?. Change the name and let it go the way of other liberal colleges.

Tell that to Mary on the Dome or at the Grotto, or Christ in the Eucharist at the Sacred Heart Basilica, or the thousands upon thousands of high spirited graduates of ND like the guy who wrote this.

Save Notre Dame? Indeed! Notre Dame has become over the years infiltrated by the devil through McBrien, Hesburgh, Jenkins, etc. ... if Satan takes over completely there, he'll take over everywhere. So if you don't care about ND, "the flagship Catholic university," then what DO you care about?

I care about the Church and the fact that all of the Blesed Mother’s statues and artifacts at that school are being spit upon. I would rather see it gone than going thru what it is going thru now. there are other places where these reminders of Mary, may be seen in the proper way.

90% of the students in that school adorated Obama and not Notre dame. They cheered the baby killing monster while poor Mary looked on. Is that what you want?? I think not.
leave them and their ignorance to be destroyed.

I agree...Notre Dame is worth fighting for and I am not a Catholic. But it does NOT take a Catholic to understand the horrors of partial birth abortion, etc., and it does NOT take a Catholic to understand that Uhbama, in accepting that speaking engagement, willingly and I believe ON PURPOSE, put yet another knife it the heart of the deep and abiding GOOD that Notre Dame stands for...

Uhbama, I believe, would HAPPILY tear down ANY CHRISTIAN CHURCH that stands in the way of his beliefs in abortion and his particular brand of dispiriting, crushing, tyrannical social justice.
