Mort: You’re misinterpreting what I’m saying and there are a few here who believe it to be a virtue to lose. I don’t. I am willing to advance my cause incrementally if necessary. It is especially foolish to be willing to give up conquered ground.

Tom: I've tried to be kind to you but you find it easier to be insulting.

I have had it with you as I know the phony you are. The only reason I'm saying this on this website now is because there are those unsuspecting here that believe you are more righteous than the rest of us.

You aren't. You actually are the perfect example of the type of people I've been talking about here on FR now for a very long time.

The "third parties" offer hope to no one. I think back to the time I sent money to the CP. I think what was I thinking? Why would I send them my hard earned money? They talked such a good talk and I agreed with them but why would I send them my money? Now I realize, I didn't bother to think it through. The truth is I wasn't willing to think long term.

But my eyes were opened wide when I heard their disgusting radio ads during the 2000 and 2004 elections. They were using my money to try to convince me that Bush was more dangerous than Gore or Kerry.

The CP was lying. I now realize they were are also cowards as they have no intention of ever being elected to an office. Some of these very same people could be holding office now if they would run as Republicans but they don't want to win. They want to be able to hide behind their "purity" and point fingers at those in the Republican party who can actually accomplish something.

Now I realize they are also thieves (just like you) as they only want my money without offering me anything in return.

Tom, forget it. We're not stupid.

You have no need to start a party. You’ve already got a squishy one you’re perfectly happy with, as this thread shows. And hey, unlike me and my family, they’ll actually count your vote for your squishy candidates. Life is good!

Right. And all your friends in the Iowa GOP have “gotten it done” so well. I guess that’s why Iowa and the country are now controlled completely by liberal Democrats.

Great!!! And your method is going to make sure we continue to have more Democrats elected. If anyone is stupid enough to get sucked into your phony strategy they are going to be helping to elect Democrats. That is all they can possibly do. Frankly, your "party" will probably never get a candidate on a ballot and that is a good thing. I just hate to see people get taken.

That's hilarious, considering your attitude and the aspersions you've cast my way on this thread. The sad part is that you can't even see what you're doing.

Thieves?

I know you to be a Christian, and I can assure you that this is an accusation you’re going to have to answer to the Lord for, Vinita.

You have no idea what you’re talking about. You’re doing nothing more than projecting your own lack of faith, principle and vision on me.

My family of four lived on fourteen thousand dollars last year, primarily because of people like you.

I took the bare minimum to survive out of all of my efforts because I knew this day was coming. I knew that when we reached a certain point that people exactly like you were going to try to destroy our efforts and me personally with attacks exactly like this one.

You’re lying about me, and assasinating my character, and that’s wrong. It’s un-Christian.

I do not believe it is virtuous to lose. However, I also do not believe it is virtuous to forsake one’s core principles in pursuit of a pyrrhic victory, either.

I believe my words are also being misunderstood. When I say “loyalism”, I mean blind brand loyalty to the R label - not flexible support of a generally conservative party.

I see the R party working very hard to moderate itself further and further into the mold of the democrat party - perhaps of a few years ago, but dem nonetheless. This is a conscious, concerted effort by the political leadership of the party to drag the base leftward.

At some point, there must be a choice on part of the base to either force a leadership change for the party or to let the leadership drift into the rocky liberal shoals, after which the helm can be retaken or a new boat constructed. I do not know what the outcome of all of this will be, except that I will not forsake my core principles.

Pro-life (not quite rabidly so ;-P), pro-America, pro-2A, anti-socialist. Most everything else is negotiable.

your phony strategy

My "phony strategy" is for the people to once again self-govern, and to urge them to only elect people who keep their sworn oath of office. Pray tell what is "phony" about that?

You have absolutely no way to make sure that happens. You have no strategy. That is the point.

If the things I said don’t happen the country will continue its slide into destruction. And no one but God knows when the point of no return will be reached.

If Christians won’t stop the compromise, the country cannot be saved. “If the salt has lost its savor...”

The bright side of it is that if Christians would simply draw a principled line and stick to it, the country would be transformed so fast it would make your head spin.

By the way. I think you wasted your money on the CP too. Where you’ve got it wrong is that you think I’m like them.

Here in my state we have a fine line between Common Sense Conservatives that want the most conservative candidate that can win and extremist. We would be arch conservatives in other parts of the County.

At our State Convention, we reelected a Conservative to the Chair that understands what being Conservative is all about and a woman to Vice Chair who won’t be undermining the chair like the last time. They will work as a team to get more conservatives in office. The other group wants to exclude anyone that isn’t a ‘purist’ which created all kinds of havoc the last two years as one of their leaders was the Vice Chair.
