NO HEALTHCARE FOR ILLEGALS
NEALZ NUZE ^ | May 22, 2009 | NEAL BOORTZ

Posted on 05/22/2009 7:47:38 AM PDT by Turret Gunner A20

This one should have been a no-brainer. Didn't turn out that way. Democrat Senator Max Baucus is making a big deal over the fact that our government's brilliant healthcare reforms will not cover illegal aliens. So if the government won't cover the healthcare costs of illegal aliens, that leaves the burden entirely on the private sector. The government already knows that it can't afford this government healthcare scheme, so this doesn't really make a big difference anyway.

So, why the fuss? Votes. The longer this idea of government healthcare lingers out there for the public to digest, the more people will begin to realize that we are making a gigantic mistake. Government is incapable of providing a service better than any private business. If you think I'm wrong here .. cite an example. That being the case, why on earth would we want to hand over our own health, not to mention the health of our loved ones, to a bunch of incompetent government bureaucrats?

Democrats know they have to act fast to get this incredible power wrapped up ... fast enough to stay ahead of the wave of public opinion that is turning against a government health care system.

The looters also know how the voters feel about their tax dollars covering for the costs of illegals in this country. So this is what the Democrats are willing to "give up." This is their idea of compromise. "Look, aren't we doing so well? We are doing exactly what you want .. we aren't going to cover the medical costs for illegal aliens!"

Then you are supposed to get little tingles up your legs and praise the Lord that you have government in your life.

Trust me ... they drop illegals from coverage now to get your support, then add them right back after the legislation is passed to get Hispanic support. They think you're too stupid to see what they're up to. With so many Americans, they're exactly right.

"So if the government won't cover the healthcare costs of illegal aliens, that leaves the burden entirely on the private sector."

The federal government may not cover the costs, but the states are required by law to continue to do so. If you recall the voters of California passed Prop. 187 which prohibited the extension of state paid benefits to illegal aliens. The prohibition was thrown our by the courts and as a consequence, California is nearing bankruptcy.

The federal government has been massively stealing from functional, tax paying US citizens for years with the EMTALA legislation.

Doctors and Hospitals must provide “free” care to any riff raff that wanders into an American Emergency Room, by federal law.

Results?

1) Hallucinatory bills for private patients to make up the shortfall.

2) No doctor now wants to be within 10 miles of an ER, due to the lack of reimbursement and high liability risk.

Result #3 . . .

One of the emerging trends in medical care is the establishment of "private" hospitals that serve clients on an outpatient or appointment-only basis. They can get around the Federal requirements for providing emergency care because -- well, they don't have emergency rooms.

It should come as no surprise that this trend started in southern California.

The Dems will soon reveal their Real solution. Make sure there are no “illegals” by giving them all citizenship. That way everyone can be covered if they are within our borders.

I think we could make great strides toward reducing the illegals in the US by “denying” healthcare unless they can pay on receipt of service.

It’s being pushed now to totally restart the California Constitution. I hope it goes through. It has been changed over 500 times and doesn’t resemble the original. It does need to start over.

not that CA will do anything about it...

Children of illegal aliens cost county welfare $44 million in March - Up $1 million from last month

http://www.the-signal.com/news/article/12489/

LOS ANGELES COUNTY - Figures from the Department of Public Social Services show that children of illegal aliens in Los Angeles County collected more than $21 million in welfare and more than $22 million in food stamps in March 2009 — an increase of $1 million from the previous month, according to a news release from Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.

Annually the cost of illegal immigration to Los Angeles County taxpayers exceeds one billion dollars, which includes $220 million for public safety, $400 million for healthcare, and $500 million in welfare and food stamps allocations, according to the news release.

Twenty-four percent of the county’s total allotment of welfare and food stamp benefits goes directly to the children of illegal aliens born in the United States, according to Antonovich’s statement.

“Illegal immigration continues to have a devastating impact on Los Angeles County taxpayers,” Antonovich said in the statement. “The total cost for illegal immigrants to county taxpayers exceeds $1 billion a year - not including the millions of dollars for education.”

Please, here are some facts about the "unconstitutionality" of Prop 187 (passed 59 - 41 in 1994).

Prop 187 was not thrown out by the courts and it was never appealed either -- a deal was made. A lone federal judge is as far as it got -- and that judge sat on Prop 187 until just before an opponent of Prop 187 was elected governor (1998).

California voters on November 8 (1994) voted 59 to 41 percent to approve Proposition 187.

A federal judge immediately blocked the implementation of virtually all sections of Prop. 187

Liberals including a lot of Hispanic folks railed against the passage of Prop 187

Mexican President Carlos Salinas declared that Mexico was pleased with the federal court's rejection of Prop. 187. Ernesto Zedillo who succeeded Salinas agreed.

Bill Bennett, Jack Kemp, and other Republicans (including Jeb Bush if I remember correctly) attacked California Republican Governor Wilson for supporting Prop. 187. Ref: here

The Republican Wilson Administration tried several ways to get the federal judge to do something! The judge was sitting on the case. "The Wilson Administration sued [Jan. 1995] to have the constitutionality of Prop. 187 determined first in California state courts, thereby removing the case from a Los Angeles federal judge who has issued an injunction blocking Prop. 187's implementation." Ref. here

Almost three years later November 1997, US District Court Judge Mariana R. Pfaelzer finally ruled: "California is powerless to enact its own legislative scheme to regulate immigration. It is likewise powerless to enact its own legislative scheme to regulate alien access to public benefits." Ref. here

Democrat Gray Davis was elected governor in 1998. An opponent of Prop 187 it was his administration that arranged a settlement and refused to appeal the federal district court's decision; to wit,

"The federal judge who issued an injunction in 1994 blocking the implementation of Proposition 187 approved a settlement in September 1999 between the state and groups that challenged the initiative, ending litigation—the settlement will block implementation of all parts of Proposition 187 except for those providing penalties to persons caught making false documents. Proposition 187, approved by voters 59-41 percent in 1994, would have created a state-run screening system to prevent unauthorized children from receiving tuition-free K-12 schooling and unauthorized residents from receiving state-funded public benefits." Ref. here

NOTE: the agreement was between the state [Gov. Davis] and groups that challenged the initiative there were no proponents of Prop 187 invited, if I remember correctly.

Thus IMO no final decision on the constitutionality of Prop. 187 was ever rendered. No appeals court decision, no supreme court decision. Nothing but Prop 187 opponents' and one federal district judge's feeeeeeeeelings.

Now we're broke. Now we are "powerless" to comply with the deal made between ideological hacks.

Now what? Will Judge Pfaelzer, Gray Davis, liberal Republicans, Mexico, et al give us the money?

Once this power grab is in place watch how many Republicans , even those who claim to be conservative start "Hispandering" to illegals by giving them "free" healthcare. This socialized healthcare is going to be a giant sucking chest wound for the taxpayer.

Free healthcare is not the only thing that should be denied the illegals. They are on every form of welfare possible. If you look into all their freebies, I guarantee you will be infuriated. It is completely insane that we are supporting these people who are here illegally, and yet get so many free benefits. We are broke here in CA and our Sacramento gang are trying to think up more ways to tax us.

You are absolutely right on! As a Californian, I remember how we gathered votes for Prop 187, and a lone Judge, Marianna Feltzer (sp?) plus those who benefited from it, denied it, refusing to have it be adjudicated by the Supreme Court. California can’t pay it’s bills now. We are in debt by the billions.
