Timothy M. Morrison, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana, announced that PAUL A. FORD, 33, Morgantown, Indiana, was charged today with mail fraud, following an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Indiana State Police.
The information alleges that FORD was previously the Street Superintendent of the Town of Morgantown. Between March 24, 2005 and March 17, 2006, FORD allegedly caused the town to pay for rental of heavy equipment which FORD used exclusively to operate his private excavation business. The Information further contends that FORD caused the town to pay in excess of $40,000 for unauthorized rental of the equipment which was never used for any town business.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney James M. Warden, who is prosecuting the case for the government, FORD faces a maximum possible prison sentence of 20 years and a maximum possible fine of $250,000. An initial hearing will be scheduled before a U.S. Magistrate Judge in Indianapolis, Indiana within the next two weeks.
His lawyers will use the “anticipatory shovel ready stimulus spending” defense.
Fur Shur. I know that town. THere was this old Christian Church we thought about buying to use as an art gallery. You had to leave the stained glass windows in place ~ couldn’t sell them!
I’ll bet it was a neat church.
Mercy. How many Jackson Township folks are there on this site?
The Indian guy there next to Jerrel's barber was thinking about buying the place too.
You mean everybody’s not from Amaroogia?
Problem with the term “Amaroogia” is that no one ever bothered to write it down. You’ll notice that “roogia” part? I swear that’s the basis of the term “Hoosier”.
Took an awful lot of reading and research to find that Sumerian probably has Dravidian roots, and the 11 or so Sa'ami languages have Sumerian roots, or are related to Sumerian in some meaningful way.
So, there it is "emi- ruäËvnjargg", which probably means "reindeer crossing", with all the sounds for Amaroosia, Seymour was originally called Mule's Crossing. "Mules" means "reindeer" in several Sa'ami languages.
BTW, Skolt Sa'ami has been a written language for less than 50 years which probably explains why no one ever wrote down Amaroosia.
There's a fancy bridge over I65 at Columbus. It's designed by a Finnish bridge design company in emi- ruäËvnjargg in Finland. There's also this close business contact between Finland and Indianapolis involving DWARVES, both human and animal.
If you got on a plane from Indianapolis to Helsinki (yes, there are regular flights for that, but not to London or Paris), the odds are good that the person in the seat next to you would be an important person in the world of strange looking bridges OR dwarfs.
Oh, BTW, my grandfather was born in Morgantown ~ but they moved to Nashville, and then Seymour later on.
Most of my person experiences with strange looking bridges and dwarves can be traced to some bad ‘shine.
(actually it was nearer Mahalasville, but he always claimed it to be Morgantown so folks would know where it was).
Mahalasville shows up all over the family genealogy records when it comes to “the bride of” ~ couple of years ago they were selling off a large tract of land that’d been acquired by the power company. I noticed that John Dillinger’s boyhood home was located there ~ almost bought it.
Re#6 Cool sizing. I love stained glass in churches (mine, alas, does not have them)...
