The cells are injected into the muscle tissue, not directly into blood vessels. In young heart injury patients, it is not uncommon to see the body make new blood vessels to bring blood to o2 starved muscle tissue.

Maybe you were thinking of a fat embolism?When a major bone is fractured,it can release a fat particle that can cause an embolism.
