Pentagon Briefings No Longer Quote the Bible

The Pentagon said Monday it no longer includes a Bible quote on the cover page of daily intelligence briefings it sends to the White House as was practice during the Bush administration.

Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said he did not know how long the Worldwide Intelligence Update cover sheets quoted from the Bible. Air Force Maj. Gen. Glen Shaffer, who was responsible for including them, retired in August 2003, according to his biography.

For a period in 2003, at least, the daily reports prepared for President George W. Bush carried quotes from the books of Psalms and Ephesians and the epistles of Peter. At the time, the reports focused largely on the war in Iraq.

The Bible quotes apparently aimed to support Bush at a time when soldiers' deaths in Iraq were on the rise, according to the June issue of GQ magazine. But they offended at least one Muslim analyst at the Pentagon and worried other employees that the passages were inappropriate.

On Thursday, April 10, 2003, for example, the report quoted the book of Psalms - "Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him. ... To deliver their soul from death." - and featured pictures of the statue of Saddam Hussein being pulled down and celebrating crowds in Baghdad.

With Obama's anti Chritsian tendencies, I'm surprised the quotes lasted this long.

Meanwhile, I suspect Satan eagerly anticipates the arrival one day of "The Rev" Barry Lynn. He has done much to please Satan.

It’s a slam against the Jews (who wrote the Bible no matter how you understand that book to be structured). Obama’s anti-semitism is creeping out now. It will only get worse.

A pity!

Read through Psalms....someone (at the Pentagon, whether Rumsfeld or whoever) was on the right track.

Haven't read the epistles of Peter yet. Paul offers great inspiration and HOPE in his epistles. Let's hear about the book of Obadiah next. That author is zoned.

Revelation 22:19

And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Peter 1 & 2 in the Bible are referred to as “Letters”.

Well, I’ve got a Bible quote for Mr Barry W. Lynn...

Thus says the LORD, “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, And whose heart turns away from the LORD.” Jeremiah 17:5

If the only reports that contained the Biblical quotes were from March 17 - April 11, 2003 why is that a problem, then or now?

But they offended at least one Muslim analyst at the Pentagon

OH, NOW I see why it is/was a problem! It only took 6 years for this offended muslim to speak up. He must have been terrified of President Bush and Rummy! But now one of his brethren resides (illegally) in the People's House so he is safe to express his fear!

The Bible quotes apparently aimed to support Bush at a time when soldiers' deaths in Iraq were on the rise

That is a bit of rhetorical masturbation there.
The initial invasion began March 19th and Bagdhad fell April 9th. Since there had been no soldiers' deaths prior to that time it only stands to reason they would be on the rise.

Everyone knew President Bush, Secretary Rumsfeld and many others in the administration were Christians. Encouraging President Bush to stand the storm and be strong in his decision to fight evil was not a bad thing.

Maybe some quotes from the Sufi poet Rumi? Would that be “nuanced” enough?

One Muslim in the Pentagon complained and a few others were concerned that this would inflame the Middle East....

Our very existence inflames them!...what we do in OUR Pentagon is none of their business....

..(of course someone (liberal, socialist swine) has made it their business.

Obama is systematically erasing any references to Christianity. The thing about this is that this information did NOT have to be made public. Somebody made an effort to publicize it. As if they’re proud that they rooted out expressions of faith used by employees.

They now quote the militant sections of the Koran. Much more martial.

yeah, now they quote passages from the Satanic Bible.

The 'messiah' is a false prophet!
"And they worshiped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshiped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? ... And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months."

But, but, but, Barry Lynn has a 'minister's' excuse, he doesn't realize he's serving the father of lies at every turn, he believes he's serving 'the separation of church and state' as he systematically removes all reference to God from America.

It is said that satan is always in the churches; Barry Lynn shows how that is absolutely true.
