From the headline I thought it was apatent for a device which would “kill” GPs devices.

Now THAT would be useful!

Is should be a simple mater to broadcast a signal that would mess with the timing and confuse a GPS receiver.

The US already has technology to make GPS useless when needed. There have been quite a few NOTAMs warning pilots that GPS will not work on certain dates and times in areas near military bases in the southwest.
