One of the things that bothers me about Islam is that they claim to recognize Jesus as a prophet (even though they don’t believe he was the Son of God), and one of the most important acts performed by Jesus was when he saved the life of the woman who was about to be stoned to death for adultery: “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”

Like hell they do. They just say that to appease Christians questioning their koran. In reality you'll find christian churches burned and defaced with "Jesus is a pig" spray painted on it.
That is a most excellent point - never occurred to me before.
Too bad Islam also claims that the gospels were “corrupted” although they never explain how or when or which parts we can believe. I once asked a Muslim those questions during an email discussion and the conversation abruptly ended. (The historicity of Jewish and Christian texts easily rebuffs the corruption theory, even before the discovery at Qumran.)
