DES PLAINES — Illinois Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias is threatening to pull state business from Wells Fargo & Co. unless the bank stops trying to liquidate a company that makes suits for President Barack Obama.

Giannoulias made the ultimatum outside a Hartmarx Corp. factory in Des Plaines Thursday. Chicago-based Hartmarx is the nation's largest maker of men's tailored clothing.

Giannanis is another notorious public serpent out of Illinois. The bank this swamp creature oozed out from has done plenty of business with mob figures, city of Chicago (I repeat myself)and now he is currying favor with Obama to save his favorite Tailor.

Coupla links that give a brief glimpse at him.

What ever happened to that 14th Amendment thing?
And what ever happened to people having the balls to tell government bureaucrats to stuff-it?

State employees being hit up to support a dying business.
This is how it works in a Banana Republic. Banks are required to lend to the El Presidente’s buddies. If it worked for Marcos it will work for Zero.

Can TARP money “buy” a bank? Or only rent it?

Looks like every ACORN constituent thinks they can demand the banks “Give it up” if they took taxpayer money... bank looting by any other name.

The banks have no one to blame but themselves. Once they agreed to receive a penny of government money, they become beholden to whatever government wants.

When Hank Paulsen twisted arms to get the big banks to accept TARP back in September, the banks should have firmly said "no thanks". If he then threatened, the banks should have threatened right back to use their entire marketing departments to make the whole thing public.

But, instead, they all folded like so many HartMarx cheap suits. Hard to feel sorry for any of them now. Lie with dogs, get fleas.

Taking a loan from the feds is as bad as taking a loan from the Mafia. Given how Chicago runs Washington now, it’s getting to be the same thing...literally.

Maybe Obama could use the Finucci Brothers. The tailors for “Snaps” Provolone.

Obama Cult of Personality Becomes Douple-Plus-Weird
by Mark Noonan on May 12th, 2009 at 09:33pm

I mean, you’ve got to be kidding me:

Illinois Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias is threatening to pull state business from Wells Fargo & Co. unless the bank stops trying to liquidate a company that makes suits for President Barack Obama.

Giannoulias made the ultimatum outside a Hartmarx Corp. factory in Des Plaines Thursday. Chicago-based Hartmarx is the nation’s largest maker of men’s tailored clothing.

The name “Giannoulias” struck a bell, and then I remembered he’s an Obama protege - picked out early for elective office by the fast-rising Obama and now being groomed for a Senate run to obtain Obama’s former seat.

I also remembered that Giannoulias was involved in some way with Obama’s partner in Illinois corruption, Tony Rezko - the Giannoulias family bank did a lot of business with Rezko.

So, what we have here is the Illinois Democrat political mafia calling for a hit on someone who isn’t willing to pay protection (in this case, in the form of keeping employed a lot of SEIU union members who’s dues go in large measure to Democrat party coffers)…”that’s a nice, little financial institution you’ve got there, Mr. Fargo. Be a shame if anything was to happen to it…”.

After all, its not like Obama’s got more going for him than tailoring and teleprompters, right? Wells Fargo is placing 50% of the Obama mystique at risk…

I think Hartmarx owns a bunch of brand, including Hickey-Freeman. Too bad that they’re in bankruptcy. I like their suits.

Disgusting.

One quick question though:
I am sure there is a union involved somewhere, but what would SEIU have to do with a clothing factory? I thought SEIU was a healthcare worker and government worker union?

This group(SEIU) and ACORN should be getting indictments....instead they are getting tax dollars. Go figure.
