We don’t need to resort to the pro-abort Ridge in a state with strong pro-life sentiment. Besides, he’s too much the Washington DC insider type, the Richard Thornburgh of this decade.

Pro-abort Catholic ? Forget it. That position not only cost him the Vice-Presidency in 2000, it’s cost him his soul, too.

So let me get this straight.

Sphincter switches party because, to the best of his knowledge, he was going to get his clock cleaned by Toomey.

So he switches party and thinks that the majority of PA Dems will vote blindly for an ex Republican?

And the GOP would rather run Ridge than Toomey?

Not too hard to figure out that the GOP is once again flipping the bird to conservatives.

Ridge won't win anyway despite the happy talk from libs that Republicans must be more like the Dems.

Specter won't be the nominee, the Dems are going to run someone younger in the primary to oust him because he'll be too old and outlived his usefulness. That Dem will run as a pseudo-fiscal conservative.

So Ridge knocks off Toomey in the primary with the help of cross-over union and Dem votes and f*@#ing RNC/NRSC backing, and he'll lose in the general because conservatives will stay home and the Dems will paint Ridge as a Washington insider and Bush flunky.

Game, set, and match Rats.

Jerry Ford, Bob Dole and John Mc Cain, great moderates who won big for the GOP....... Give me a break!!

When will they ever learn? I’m sure Ridge is a good guy but he’ll never win as a Dem light moderate republican.. Ann Coulter said it best “ When voters have to choose between a democrat and a democrat, they’ll choose the real thing every time “

He polls well appeartently (name ID) but what a terrible idea.

He’s old. Providing no distinction to Specter.

He’s pro-abortion. The pro-life vote is key for PA Republicans.

And he has Bush stink.
