Bill Whittle nukes Jon Stewart's Truman-is-a-war-criminal charge
PajamasTV - AFTERBURNER ^ | Bill Whittle

When Bill Whittle heard about Jon Stewart calling Harry Truman a "war criminal" for dropping the bomb on Hiroshima (during an argument on waterboarding...), Whittle did his homework and made a video rebuttal that is second to none.

Thank you, Mr. Whittle.

Jon Lieberman appeals to those arrogant and snide soft-lefties who just want to smile sardonically at their opposition and sneer a four-second quip that sounds funny and intelligent.

Unfortunately, they haven't the knowledge or native intelligence to parse what he says and to see how empty of profound thought Lieberman is, and how what he puts out as humor is nothing more than hatred with lipstick.

Just for the record: Jon Stewart apologized on the next or second-next show for making the statement and said it was a really stupid remark. And I agree, it was a really stupid remark.

Jon needs to remember that the USA and its Allies won WW II. The victors were never war criminals until the Obama administration.

Guess he must have received a lot of nasty e-mails.

Excellent video; well done and quite well presented.

Of course, it means nothing to the LibTard mind...

John Stoner Stewart might have apologized but only because he made the mistake of exposing his real unscripted views in a heated debate. He’s not suppose to do that. His apology was only done to appease the advertisers and his producers who do not want to see their show go down the drain. It is my hope that his show gets canceled and John Stewart’s career as a leftist hack gets canceled as well.

You're right.

I wonder if he would've said the same thing if not for the blow-back? I think not.

That video is excellent. My father was off the coast of Japan waiting for the invasion. There was no doubt in his mind that he probably wouldn’t be coming home. I would never have been born. Harry Truman did the right thing and saved millions of lives by doing it!

This is not hyperbole; Mr. Whittle has put together a very fine response with solid base in facts. He does more than just take down Stewart with his breezy insult to Truman; Bill takes the viewer on a history lesson that explains the Atom Bomb, the reasons for using it, why two bombs were needed, and how the war record shows that forcing Japan to surrender this way literally saved millions of lives.

When Hirohito finally relented and decided to surrender, he read the tea-leaves correctly - he knew that the fate of the Japanese nation was at stake, and he knew that the army militarists who had brought the nation to the brink of ruin would not hesitate to use all civilians left, right down to their toddler children, to fight the invading Allied armies. It would have been the equivalent of Hara Kiri on a national level.

The A-Bombs saved millions of lives, and saved the Noble nation of Japan from self-extinction... and the fact that such a horror could only be averted by the use of a terrible weapon is something a Statist/leftist can never accept as it does not fit in his utopian mindset.

I wish PJ would release this for general dissemination via YouTube or other venue. This needs to go viral, and quick before the news cycle goes stale.

My father also fought in the Pacific and was waiting. From all he saw and went through, till his dying day, he could never trust nor forget what they had done.

He also received a Purple Heart.
