One of the many perks of being POTUS, or TOTUS, if you are a stickler for accuracy, is that you don’t need to go through the nettlesome process of applying for a security clearance. POTUS gets to decide by fiat what positions should require clearance, and we must accept his appointments as competent patriots, notwithstanding titanic amounts of evidence to the contrary. The president is also at liberty to install incontestably unqualified individuals to sensitive posts.

Still, I don't see how Rosa could possibly have conversations with her mother and not be arrested for violating espionage laws.

She will fit right in with this one: Rosa Brooks, adviser to Under Secretary for Defense, Michelle Fluornoy, former LA Times oped columnist, and unclear on the concept, who described the Iraq troop surge as a "feckless plan” that was “too little, too late” and had “no realistic likelihood” of leading to “an enduring solution in Iraq.” She was wildly wrong; BO nominated her to an influential position in the Pentagon.
