It's too late to prevent or to contain that.
Of course, any day is a good day to close the border - but for this specific purpose, if it wasn't done a week ago it's too late.
And, by the way, know that closing the border now, useless for flu prevention purposes, will strand a lot of sick Yanks in Mexico.
Closing the border doesn’t mean trapping US citizens down there...but it should mean stopping non-citizens from coming up here.
Maybe it will keep fanning out here, but it’s still IDIOTIC to let these people in so that they can speed up the spread of the disease...just so they can go shopping or visit relatives (or sell drugs).
Sure it does. That's what closing the border IS.
Mr. President we don’t need no stinkin sick “horses” comming in from Mexico its time to fix the corral fence and control the gates.

Yep...connected...AND...check out one of the comments on that page...typical OPEN BORDERS, ECONOBOT response. Sadly, I’ll bet there are many (bushbot/mcshamnesty) Freepers who would agree.
“the number of people that are coming into contact w/ this disease is growing exponentially...its too late for containment...we are at a mitigation phase (CDC level 5/6)...NOTHING will stop the spread...we are merely trying to get things in order for when the shlitz hits the fan...it is not illegal aliens that have been bringing back this disease but rather American citizens that had vacationed or traveled to Mexico. Closing the border now would only further hurt our struggling economy.”
WHO recommending border stay open
Well excuuuuse me. The WHO may be musical geniuses, but I won't take my medical advice from Pete Townshend and Roger Daltry.
'See me, Feel Me, Touch me, Heal me', just don't cut it.
Meet the bugs; same as the old bugs
Doctor, there's something wrong with me
My health is not all that it used to be
My heart is out of beat, I've got chilblains on my feet
My eyesight's getting dimmer, I can't seeDoctor, doctor, doctor, make me well
I've not got long to go now I can tell
Doctor, doctor, doctor, make me well
I've not got long to go I can tell
I've not got long to go I can tellI've been getting shivers lately, is it flu?
And though the bug is going round, what can I do?
And it's about to pick on me, I've still got the other three
Do you think if I caught smallpox I'd get through?
this could go on and on ;-)

If this is more than just media hysterics I imagine a flood of refugees trying to get free American medical attention will be Zero’s Muriel boatlift.
And the government won't shut this down?
Those in government refusing to secure our borders should be immediately arrested and prosecuted. Fill the jury with the infected.
lolol
Your post bears repeating.......
Refusing to close the border with Mexico couldnt be more illogical if this strain is truly as bad as officials claim.
Their action prove much more likely this is a Manufactured Crisis by SOCIALISTS to Further their Agenda....... to serve as an Excuse to Nationalize Healthcare or PREVENT TEA PARTIES..... from occurring by Banning Large Public Gatherings
under the Pretense of preventing the virus from spreading.

“Closing the border doesnt mean trapping US citizens down there
Sure it does. That’s what closing the border IS.”
Jeeze, you open-borders types never quit. Let me rephrase then:
“Closing the border doesn’t have to mean trapping US citizens down there.”
Sorry for not being a perfectionist.
