Gotta confess that I don't really follow the show anymore, so I hadn't heard about them splitting up.
Can't say I'm surprised, though. People evolve and grow, and Paulie has probably hit a point where he wants his own life.
Their partnership is a lot like those of musical bands. Being tied together in the constant limelight wears a lot of entertainers down to the point where they finally want a "divorce".
That would be an awesome show and the best part is after the match, the Winner would help the Loser off the floor and they would go have a drink together and discuss a rematch!
