Rudy Giuliani: Mr. Mayor of America. Today the US Government flew the Presidential Jet known as Air Force 2, with two fighter jets in tow, over the great city of New York. This Mr. Mayor was stunt that was performed for more than 30 minutes while flying low over the Manhattan sky Line, with steep banking turns and full throttle verticals.
Mr. Mayor the great people of New York were not just alarmed they were scared by this shameful act. The memories of 9-11 were brought to the forefront of New Yorkers who were scared and thinking "Not again"!
This was intentional and designed to elicit the intended response. New Yorkers from 30 floors up watched in terror and horror as this plane swooped up at the last minute while missing the very building it appeared to be headed for. People were emailing loved ones, twittering and Instant Messaging.
Many felt the need to evacuate the buildings they were in for fear of being in the path 0f the plane. They did so for their own survival.
Mr. Mayor, How many people fell down stairs and were injured as they tried to escape? Mr. Mayor, how many 911 calls were made and what was the impact on the city's ability to deliver emergency services. Mr. Mayor, did anyone die as a result of this prank.
I call it a prank, Mr. Mayor, as no one in the white house seemed to have any answers. This is outrageous! The President of the United States does not know where his plane is? What then shall we say of the very fine men and women of the Secret Service whose very job it is knowing where the President is AT ALL TIMES and WHERE ARE THE ASSETS at THE PRESIDENTS DISPOSAL FOR TRANSPORTATION? Does the White House expect Americans to believe they did not know where their private vehicle for keeping the President safe is?
How could they not know? Do they guess when they need to embark for a destination where their plane is?
Mr. Mayor, you have stood up to nefarious characters and stood for America.
Mr. Mayor I implore to use your position of influence, in a very visible manner, to get answers.

What a bunch of freaking pussies. The Air Force and others have been doing fly-by photos of aircraft in front of Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore, the Grand Canyon and most any notable landmarks for as long as there have been planes.
From what I've read the city was notified. THEIR failure to alert the public, or to think that there should BE a notification is not anyones fault but their own.
Even if it turns out the White House is lying about the notification (What? Would they do that?) ;) it's no excuse.

Maybe you haven’t been to visit where 100,000 people use to work, play and dine?

Well, Guiliani certainly fooled me into feeling calmer and more hopeful that everything would be OK after the towers were attacked, and I’ll be eternally grateful for that.
We all were calmed, if even a little, by the fine Mayor Mr. Giuliani. He demonstrated strength and leadership in just the right way at the right moment. Even going directly on the scene of where the two tower collapsed.
I have two emails from friends in the city who said basically "that was pretty scary'.

I'm just sick and tired of people who seem to believe that because of the horrific outrage that happened in New York, we are now justified in using it as an excuse to p*ss and moan about the possibility it may happen again. Sure it may. We can be killed in a car accident too, or a normal plane crash, or die of cancer. Each of them are far, far more likely but we do not evacuate buildings, whine and cry and think politicians who do are correct to do it.
This is not how I was brought up, not how I live my life, and not what I expect from normal adult behavior in a world that is not, has not and never will be a safe place to live. Frankly I expect such behaviour from children in the dark, and if these are harsh words to hear so be it. I think they need to be said.

From your vanity I can only assume one of two things:
Either your vanity is sincere and you really believe that the former mayor of New York City has the power of inquiry you believe he does, in which case you aren't very bright.

You are being sarcastic which is a little late in the political game since Giuliani is now nothing more than your typical high paid guest on the speaker circuit.
White House Military Office Director Louis Caldera apologized for any panic caused by a flight mission and photo op that looked like Air Force One and fighter jets heading toward the New York City skyline Monday morning.
Caldera said he approved the mission last week and that federal authorities took the proper steps to notify state and local authorities in New York and New Jersey.
As I said, it's the White House. So the information is automatically suspect. Fox just said they claimed to notify the NYC Police. If true, the THEY failed to take action to spread the word. Bloomberg may need to look closer to home for somebody to whine on camera too.

The NYPD did not have clearance:
In a brief statement after the flight, the New York Police Department acknowledged it was aware the flight was happening, but claimed the Federal Aviation Administration told them not to talk about it.
“The flight of a VC-25 aircraft and F-16 fighters this morning was authorized by the FAA for the vicinity of the Statue of Liberty with directives to local authorities not to disclose information about it but to direct any inquiries to the FAA Air Traffic Security Coordinator,” the statement said.

I am seeing here exactly what I expected to see. Freepers defending Mayor Bloomberg. People acting directly and firstly from emotion. You attempting to justify it by saying I do not value others and implying I don't value life.
Sounds a whole lot like a moanfest over at DU when there were cutbacks on proposed spending increases were proposed to some government program that 'benefited' kids. "Conservatives have no compassion, they want to starrrrve the children, OH, the HUMANITY!!"
That I am purposefully being harsh I fully admit. It a direct response to the over reaction in the Media, Politics, and HERE to an incident that has little to do with anything.
One this this does highlight. The Lefts deliberate choice to downplay the 9-11 attack, to pull the images and not talk about how it affected people was a complete failure. All it's obviously done is repress the feelings and put them right under the surface to be manipulated whenever some otherwise innocuous incident occurs.
You can't admit that this was a jackass stunt? That had very real consequences?
This story is a lot more interesting than that swine flu outbreak.
