They are piddlers upon merit, beggars at the door of accomplishment, thieves of livelihood, envy coddling tax lice applauding themselves for giving away other people's money. They are the lap dogs of the poly sci-class, returning to the vomit of collectivism.

I've seen this paragraph before, in other columns by other writers, as if it were conservative boilerplate. Its greate boilerplate, though - I love it.

P.J. O’Rourke’s outstanding speech to CPAC in 1993 inspired me to make bumperstickers of that-—DEMONCRATS.....THE DITCH CARP OF DEMOCRACY.

They are DUNG Beatles in Legislation, Legislators in the Bed-Chamber, Chamber-Maids on the Battlefield, and FIELD-MARSHALLS IN THE WAR AGAINST EVERYTHING REASONABLE AND DECENT. They are the DITCH CARP OF DEMOCRACY!!

P.J. was a great lefty in his youth (Nat’l Lampoon), then saw the light. He is a powerful voice for Conservatism.

It's going to be hard to do a worse job running America than the Republicans did, but the Democrats can do it if anyone can.

Heh, heh. True. So True. See Tea Parties.

The Left is the party of government activism - the party that says government can make you richer, smarter, slimmer, taller, and take a dozen strokes off your golf game.

The Right is the party that says government doesn't work. And then they get elected and prove it.

Woohah! Got that right.

When charming leftists stick their nose into things they don't understand they become ratchet-jawed purveyors of monkey-doodle and baked wind. They are piddlers upon merit, beggars at the door of accomplishment, thieves of livelihood, envy coddling tax lice applauding themselves for giving away other people's money. They are the lap dogs of the poly sci-class, returning to the vomit of collectivism. They are pig herders tending that sow-who-eats-her-young, the welfare state. They are muck-dwelling bottom-feeders growing fat on the worries and disappointments of the electorate. They are the ditch carp of democracy.

No real comment. I just wanted to read that again. :-)

P.J. O’Rourke is the person most singularly responsible for turning me into a nominal Republican. If you haven’t read “Parliament of Whores” I highly recommend it.

Ole P.J.'s losin' his style. He neglected to use the phrase "sh!thouse rat".

But maybe that comes in the second half of his lecture?

Whatever direction France is pointing - toward Nazi collaboration, Communism, Existentialism, Jerry Lewis movies, or running for cover in Afghanistan - we can go the other way with a clear conscience.

You've got to love P.J.'s take on the world.

Pakistan producing more history than it can consume locally.

This would be a lot funnier if it weren't true.
