1-2 years ago there was some discussion and a bit of reporting on the resurgence of TB cases here. The raw numbers seemed to cluster around areas with large illegal alien populations. But then the reporting seemed to stop, and (as I recall) there was some problem with the CDC numbers or the epidemiology because country-of-origin/immigration status of the victims was not recorded, or perhaps simply withheld by the CDC due to some bogus “privacy” concerns (releasing non-identified stats on TB status, sex, nationality, and immigration status are not remote “privacy” issues by any conceivable federal statute). Very similar to the very dangerous hesitance of CDC to identify Mexican peppers as the source of last year’s salmonella outbreak. While it was crystal clear from the very get-go that the problem centered around Hispanic food, the CDC never to my recollection was honest enough to say that most (all?) of the early victims were themselves Hispanic, e.g. Mexicans in America........it was like reading some controlled-press Commie propaganda broadsheet where you have to divine the truth through innuendo and guessing.

N-i-c-e take---desrves a repeat.

And the answer is ....(taa-daa----drum roll please)..............political correctness.

Mexican peppers were to blame---but the CDC decimated the livelihood of a huge crop of US tomato growers before the CDC was brave enough to utter the words "Mexico did it."

Third World here we come.

This week on ‘Rachel Ray’ they had a segment about the increase in whooping cough.....and wondered why it has increased SO much in the last 7 years....no, not one word about immigration and the ‘global economy’. We’ve had many articles on FR in the past about that and other diseases we had eradicated being reintroduced.

Whooping cough outbreak linked to illegals
Doctors warn of worst spread of pertussis in 40 years

[snip]A rise in diseases such as whooping cough, tuberculosis, malaria, measles and even leprosy are creating public health concerns and have hit hospitals and health care systems already financially burdened by indigent illegals flooding emergency rooms and urgent care centers.

Madeleine Pelner Cosman, author of a report in the spring issue of the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons, is one of those professionals who has linked the increase in diseases with illegal immigration.

“Certain diseases that we thought we had vanquished years ago are coming back, and other diseases that we’ve never seen or rarely seen in America, because they’ve always been the diseases of poverty and the third world, are coming in now,” she said.
