You are correct, but it is JUST A COINCIDENCE!!
Which is why that guy had NO IDEA that if you hit a cartridge with a hammer, it would fire!
I mean, you can’t just jump to conclusions just because a word happens to be the same word as another word.
Who could have possibly guessed that if you hit a cartridge with a hammer - you know, a NORMAL hammer, and not a specialized gun part designed to fire cartridges - that it would fire?!
