>A campus Christian group that receives funding from the student activity fee is coming under scrutiny after a student was asked by advisors to step down from its leadership team when he told them that he had openly accepted his homosexuality.

I see nothing wrong with this; and here’s why: Suppose that I was a deacon at my church — an Evangelical Free church — which has in its charter a clause on the church’s stance on sexuality. Now, imagine that I endorse homosexual relations, which is against the charter, and draw a request from the congregation to stand down/resign.

The same principle applies.

I think student activity funds should either be voluntary or work like a voucher. You get to join 4 organizations and your fee would be divided between them.

Its absurd that on many campuses the largest student groups are denied any funding. mostly christian and conservative.

If this Donahue was such a Christian, WHY? would he try to sue his former ‘brothers and sisters’..doesn’t sound very Christian like to me..! (Only God truely knows someone’s heart, however he is openly resisting the words spoken in the Bible, and trying to force Others to do so as well..so I would question his faith, he even goes to secular authories to do so, rather than handling it “inside” the Christian group (the Church) as the Apostle Paul instructs us to do).

> Because Chi Alpha is... registered with Cornell’s Student Activities Office, the situation has provoked a reaction from Cornell administrators.... Chi Alpha still receives a share of the student activity fee, distributed by the Student Assembly Finance Commission.

Okay, so if this money comes with strings attached (e.g. Chi Alpha has to keep the gay fellow), turn their stinking money down.

I don't see the issue with the gay fellow. Chi Alpha should (in my opinion) have the right to choose and keep its members according to its own rules. The gay fellow knows the rules, and broke them. He's toast.

So if taking student-activity money comes with unwelcome strings, turn it down. At that point, if Chi Alpha is still hearing crap from the college, they can fight it on a purely moral basis, which is where the fight belongs.

“I thought it would be an awesome opportunity to be an openly gay man in a Christian organization,”

An awesome opportunity for in-your-face advancement of homosexuality—a queer hiding behind Christianity advancing the goals of homosexualism. Sin comes in many forms.

He saw it as an awesome opportunity to start a lawsuit to bring the organization down.

He was probably a plant.

There’s something about someone who’s gay that considers themselves a man that just doesn’t quite fit.

The term *gay man* is an oxymoron.

Celebrate sin.

Sounds like a new religion. One called aposty.

He’s discriminating against the Christians and their beliefs. There is plenty of evidence for their beliefs, not so much for his.

Yep, I believe he was a plant too. Anything, anyway, any how states the mantra of homosexual community to further their agenda. That’s why I don’t feel sorry for this jerk.

I wanted the opportunity to show them I love god and I’m gay and it’s OK,” Donohoe said.

Yes, you do love 'god' but it's the god that dwells only within the dark netherworld that encompasses and entertains the soul of the homosexual pervert.

“I thought it would be an awesome opportunity to be an openly gay man in a Christian organization,” Donohoe said....“I told them I’ve thought about [my sexuality] and I’m 100 percent OK with my sexuality. … I wanted the opportunity to show them I love god and I’m gay and it’s OK,” Donohoe said....Donohoe filed a bias report...“This is more than a slap in the face to one individual, this is a slap in the face to the entire LGBT community, especially those of faith,” Donohoe said. “Chi Alpha is basically saying that my sexuality — along with the sexualities of every other LGBT community member — is not legitimate in the eyes of god. Chi Alpha must recognize that this belief is hurtful and discriminatory. It’s time for Chi Alpha to face the Cornell community and own up.”

Yegads, what hubris! What is he doing for his senior thesis, writing his own Bible?
