I see a Creator that not only created the earth but values it and will see that it is not laid waste by any means.

Oh yeah? I disagree, and here is my proof that God the Creator will on day burn it all up.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.2 Peter 3:10 NKJV

Please read on through the next few verses and understand that vs. 10 has to be understood in the context of what Peter said there and the rest of of the Scriptures, a few I pointed out.

Peter, Jesus, and the Psalmist were not contradicting one another in what they wrote.

That's pretty much what modern astrophysics, or more properly stellar physics, predicts. When the Sun runs out of fusionable hydrogen, it will first start to collapse and then start burning helium, expanding into a Red Giant star. "Giant" as in out beyond the orbit of the earth The Earth will be consumed. However the Kuniper belt objects will be within a much larger "liquid water" zone, from around 49.4 AU to 71.4 AU (1 AU = radius of earth's orbit). The population could move there. How they would do that is not our problem, it's theirs. But at least they have plenty of lead time.
