Something I hadn't noticed before, but possibly an encouraging sign...despite having a +6 rating, here is Ras's breakdown:

Currently, the baseline targets for the adult population are 40.1% Democrats, 33.1% Republicans, and 26.7% unaffiliated. Likely voter samples typically show a slightly smaller advantage for the Democrats.

If that is indeed the breakdown Ras uses, I don't think that is really good news for BO. What will be good news is when BO's party is defeated in the next election.

This mirrors other recent polls.

Sounds like the “Razzle Dazzle” is working, and that Americans are just plain tired of war.

They will regret it.

I'm not that concerned, especially because I have said all along that Ras's breakdown of "highly positive" and "highly negative" is new, and bogus. The old-fashioned approval is what counts, and that has only moved up one point, having gone down pretty steadily for a couple of weeks, to 54% (now 55%).

The poll reflects the lag from last week where the market went up some, the lingering effects of the SEAL rescue, but probably doesn't yet reflect fallout from Napolitano's increasingly idiotic positions or the Chavez-love-in.

I urge people, good or bad, NOT to get caught up in the strongly approve/strongly disapprove gap that Ras touts, but keep focused on that 55% number. When it starts to get under 50%, he'll be in trouble.
