Banned Techniques Yielded ‘High Value Information,’ Memo Says (Full, unedited memo released)
NY Times ^ | 4/21/09 | Peter Baker

President Obama’s national intelligence director told colleagues in a private memo last week that the harsh interrogation techniques banned by the White House did produce significant information that helped the nation in its struggle with terrorists.

“High value information came from interrogations in which those methods were used and provided a deeper understanding of the al Qa’ida organization that was attacking this country,” Adm. Dennis C. Blair, the intelligence director, wrote in a memo to his staff last Thursday.

Admiral Blair’s assessment that the interrogation methods did produce important information was deleted from a condensed version of his memo released to the media last Thursday. Also deleted was a line in which he empathized with his predecessors who originally approved some of the harsh tactics after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

In other words, the propagandists at the NYT are crying mercy in desperation of going bankrupt and are actually reporting the truth.

This should last about 3 seconds.

This CIA interrogation memos constitute a strong ground to impeach Obama Of course it will not happen now but when the political winds shift in the future this may become a strong possibility.

The socialists and pro-terrorist propagandists at the NY Times only reported this story after Cheney’s friends in the CIA released the unedited memo to multiple news outlets. They wrote this story under duress knowing other outlets had the story.

This just proves that Obama released the memos for POLITICAL REASONS plain and simple. He is such a jerk!

He had better be prepared to accept responsibility for the NEXT ATTACK because there will be one, count on it!

Who is left to blame besides himself?! He has dismantled the very techniques that stopped the attacks for eight years!

Never before in the history of our Republic there has been a President who lies constantly, lies with such incredible brazenness, and lies with such shamelessness like Barack Obama. All his stuff and his cabinet do the same as they learn from the master of lies himself.

received a Rhodes Scholarship, majoring in Russian studies at Oxford University, attending during the same time future president Bill Clinton studied there. He served as a White House Fellow from 1975-76 with Wesley Clark and Marshall Carter, who later became chairman of the New York Stock Exchange

According to journalist Alan Nairn, Blair disobeyed orders from civilians in the Clinton Administration during the 1999 East Timorese crisis during his tenure as commander-in-chief of the U.S. Pacific Command. Amid growing international concern over violence against the independence movement in Indonesian-occupied East Timor

His membership on the board of directors of EDO Corporation, a subcontractor for the F-22 Raptor fighter program, and ownership of its stock was raised as a potential conflict of interest after the IDA issued a study that endorsed a three-year contract for the program.

During his confirmation, Director Blair indicated he did not support a domestic intelligence agency separate from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He has also promised to end special interrogation regimes and believes the Intelligence Community must conduct analysis on opportunities as well as threats.

The assessment by Admiral Blair represents a shift for him since he took office. When he was nominated for the position and appeared before the Senate intelligence committee on Jan. 22, he said: “I believe strongly that torture is not moral, legal or effective.” But he declined to assess whether the interrogation program under Mr. Bush had worked.

He has changed his stance towards a more honest assesment.

We had all better think carefully about the post attack scenario. The Obama camp is going to want scapegoats, yet it is the Obama camp itself whose treason (let's not prettify matters) made the openings for a second 9/11.

This administration is intent on destroying the idea of American exceptionalism. So we might as well get used to being like any other country when strong measures are needed.

Not at all....a decision was made to release this memo in hopes that Cheney’s request will be turned down.

It is a calculated crumb.
