The Kyoto Treaty for global warming has been more honored in the breach.

We are not signatories to the Kyoto Treaty. If memory serves it was defeated 96 - 0 in the Senate.

Had McCain chosen a moderate as his running mate rather than Sarah Palin, his margin of defeat would have been wider. Had McCain denounced the first TARP bailout rather than lining up in its support even more quickly than did Obama, he might have won, or made it a closer race than it turned out to be.

If enough conservatives sit out or try to “teach a lesson to Republicans” in Nov. 2010

While that may have been a factor in elections past, especially 2008, somehow I don't think it's going to repeat itself in 2010. It's going to be bloody with far more Dems losing their jobs than Republicans. But all will fall according to their votes on a number of key issues which will vary in fervor by region. But you can count on these issues running the table: Bail Out, Immigration/amnesty, gun control, Healthcare reform that leads to rationing and did I mention Bail outs? If this results in wholesale election of neophyte politicians like the guy running against McCain (Simmcox?) then maybe we have a real shot at retaking the country. Even if the ultra liberal northeastern states are left under Democrat control, if the rest of the nation goes back to red and especially if those are brand new Senators and Congressmen, then we're in a much better position. The only certain way to defeat the money men like Soros is to VOTE!!!

I didn't imply we were. It was your inference. I only regret not being more explicit about treaties in general. The depression and paranoia on these threads gets me frustrated. Pelosi told the administration that he has more than enough on his plate already.

Tomorrow will mark the five-year point since the Senate voted unanimously to provide President Clinton and Vice President Gore with clear advice regarding the Kyoto Protocol. It is unfortunate that the Clinton Administration ignored the Senate's 95-0 vote on S.Res. 98, or the Byrd-Hagel Resolution, but the conditions outlined in that resolution remain the guideposts for U.S. international climate change policy.

I would also remind my colleagues, and this frequently gets forgotten in the discussion, perhaps even more significant than the 95-0 vote was that the Byrd-Hagel Resolution had 65 bipartisan cosponsors.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 34% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-two percent (32%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of +2 (see trends). On the Generic Congressional Ballot, it’s all tied—39% for the Democrats, 39% for the Republicans.

Most voters continue to believe that the financial and auto bailouts were a bad idea, but the Political Class disagrees. Sixty percent (60%) now believe the federal government has too much power and too much money.

There's no mandate for radical change!
