How else would they do it. The Bill of Rights were originally meant to restrict only Federal power ... it was the 14th Amendment that allegedly allowed the Bill of Rights to restrict the states as well.

Very interesting to me that the court threaded this right through the 14th amendment. Does it strike of a promotion via government to, in the end, place the 2nd amendment in a state of irrelevancy to you?
