“Theres a real simple solution. Dont carry a balance on your credit cards. Problem solved.”
Very true but much too simplistic and doesn’t do anything for the people that have balances. Your type of blindered thinking is what gives the Republican party a bad name.
pay you bill when due.
It’s just stupid of people to not plan ahead and be born with a trust fund.
Simple and elegant. Pay your bills. Don't buy things you can't afford. Or as Poor Richard says, "He that goes a-borrowing goes a-sorrowing."
and doesnt do anything for the people that have balances.
Are you sure you're not a Democrat? The best you can do for someone who has run up debts is provide a good business environment where they can work and pay them off.

The Republicans give themselves a bad name without my help. This has nothing to do with party politics. At least, my view on things doesn't. The "blindered" thinking is the notion that a running up a tab on a credit card is ever a good idea. It's not. Those who have done so should pay them off, and learn their lesson. You seem to want to add yet another group to the list of subsidized bad actors. YOU, then, are giving conservatism a bad name, if in fact you have a shred of conservative thought in you.

The borrower is slave to the lender. If you don’t want a credit card to dictate aspects of your life, don’t become their slave.
