Setting aside modern increases in human longevity and health for the moment, what are we to make of those creatures that aren't in a downward spiral? Like, say, coyotes, cockroaches, pigeons, beavers, rats, zebra mussels, fire ants, wild pigs, flathead catfish, nutria, etc., etc.
