That should be obvious; an attempt to milk the event for all the political capital he can and a desperate hope that people will forget he's a big spending, big government hack politician.
did someone invite him to speak?
He might have not taken any pork but he is Govt and we cannot just have republicans at this even as this plays into the hands of the media and the radical left wing loons
who ever is running that tea party needs to have a word with him and tell him to either say away or stay in the background and not speak
so typical the GOP still has no clue and cannot see what this does
...because he was in the leadership during the spend-spend years, and is associated with them. He got religion only when the GOP got their @ss handed to them in 2006. Besides, this might take away from time he needs to work on his perma-tan.
I agree with you. Elected officials need to just sit down and listen. What they might hear is that the American People are fed up with them leading us down the road to socialism and that we are going to use our Ballots in 2010 and 2012 to throw what is broken out!
Former congressman John Hostettler is speaking at ours tomorrow in Washington, Indiana.
I seem to recall he and Juan McQueeg leading the fear brigades about the disaster that would happen if we didn’t bail out the banks.
I’m more than a little disappointed the organizers of the Tea Party in my area wouldn’t allow one congressman from our state speak at the event. He’s one of the good ones. He offered and they turned him down. I think that was a mistake. We need these few good guys and gals front and center.
The media is the enemy.
Not House Republicans. Not Senate Republicans who support the TEA Parties.
The media is the enemy.
Silly you!
Not only that, but the House was our only bulwark against the pirates until they succumbed in 2006.
Bad move on the organizer’s part. The TEA parties were supposed to be non-partisan.
The GOP is as much a part of the problem as the Democrats. Maybe more, since we don’t expect the left to live up to their values.
You couldn't be more correct. Isn't the point "WE THE PEOPLE" voicing concerns? Tell the politicians to stand down, folks.
Besides, it just gives more propaganda ammo for the socialists to connect the movement to the GOP, which have leaned socialistic in their own right in recent years.
Actually, here in Central PA, I heard Arlen Spector say that Dick Cheney came to the Senate Republicans and told them that the first bailout needed to happen or our economy was going to collapse.
Lansing Mi.
Who cares.
I totally agree. This is a GRASSROOTS effort and is not being put on by the Republicans or any other political party. It is by and for WE THE PEOPLE to tell the jerks in office that they’d better start listening to us or we are going to be voting their asses out of there!
Agree totally.
So many people have their eye NOT on the ball. The media is what won the election by distorting, lying, deluding.
It is a battle for the spirit and mind and the media has the most powerful forces at work for evil.
I agree with this 100%. Any politician, of any party, should be welcome at a Tea Party. But they should NOT be allowed to give a speech. They've been talking and talking and talking for decades and all we've gotten is the current state we're in. It's the politicians' turn to shut up, sit down, and LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE.
