CNN this morning was terribly frustrated that Obama has refused to make absolutely any public comment on the situation. They are in poor spirits I guess.

Obama’s refusal to speak out about the pirates—in the hope of not having to take any sort of action about this—is certainly a far cry from President Truman’s statement that “the buck stops here.” Obama wants to be President without having to take responsibility for his Administration’s aimless foreign policy. It is certainly ironic that he has no qualms about interfering in the operations of private businesses, about telling executives and companies how to do their jobs, but he is not willing to carry out the most important responsibility of his job, which is national security, protecting the lives of Americans at home and abroad. He hasn’t even been office three months and he is already failing to live up to his oath of office. Every day I lose respect for this man. It is obvious that he is just a power-hungry demagogue who really doesn’t care about the welfare of the U.S.

After this single incident is resolved, I would suggest we place about four guided missile destroyers about 50 miles off the coast of Somalia, then spend a week informing the people living along the coast that they have two options, move 20 miles inland by day 8 or die. The four guided missile destroyers would then cruise in an orbit taking out the infrastructure that supports the pirates and not limiting the strikes to their camps but also including the port infrastructure rendering the ports unusable for anything bigger than a fishing boat.
Since the pirates are using fast boats to attack and to seize cargo and other vessels and their crews and passengers, we would also keep ships in the region. Any fast ship that refused to stop and be boarded should be sunk immediately.
Raw force is all that these Mohametans understand.
This cowardly DemocRAT boy-man is without a doubt the weakest president the United States of America has ever had. I hope and pray the Republicans are taking note and preparing massive TV ads to run in 2010 and 2012.
