Nice to have the Marines close by, but until they can secure the freedom of the hostage, I don’t think we’ll see any moves by the military.
However, once the hostage is safe, I think the US Marines have some trash to dispose of.

By waiting so long we have already greatly emboldened Al Qaeda terrorists, the Taliban terrorists, the Iranian terrorist regime, the North Korean communist regime, Hizballah terrorists, Hamas terrorists not to mention the Russians and the Chinese. Even if we kill all the pirates and bomb Somalia there is nothing that can change the perception of our enemies toward us because no matter what happens now they know that Obama is the weakest President ever. Because of this our enemies are going to hurt us a lot.

The thing to do is: when the life boat “sammies” are on the satellite phone with the head sammies back home; give the bosses a 500lb JDAM calling card. We can track those phone emissions.

They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss sensitive ship movements. Somebody has some really loose lips flappin' in the breeze, Kelly. Sheesh...

SONOBUOY PING!

Click on pic for past Navair pings.
Post or FReepmail me if you wish to be enlisted in or discharged from the Navair Pinglist.
The only requirement for inclusion in the Navair Pinglist is an interest in Naval Aviation.
This is a medium to low volume pinglist.

It is too early to pass judgment on Obama’s management of this incident. I doubt that he will use force, in light of his well known reluctance to do so. However the Navy has assembled a formidable array of options in the area, and a dramatic and successful rescue attempt is certainly within the realm of possibilities.
I, like most freepers, are wary of Obama’s crisis management skills, but he may prove all of us wrong. It is premature to wrote him off on this.

While overwhelming fire power is a great tactic, this seems a little overkill.

“The Boxer resembles a small aircraft carrier.”
So we need an aircraft carrier to chalenge a bunch of thugs in bathtub?
We do indeed live in an upside-down world.
