The pursuit policy for the PD I work for is now very restrictive. In fact, we really can’t chase anybody anymore. A few weeks ago we had a guy in a car, reported stolen, going around the city stealing electronics from cars in parking lots.

A detective spotted the car, marked unit came over, along with a county deputy cruiser. The chase was on. We were immediately called off.

The deputy continued the chase. I wasn’t about to let the deputy have to chase this guy alone so I stayed pretty close. The bad guy wrecked a few blocks/minutes after the chase was called off. I was able to call for assisting units and we caught the guy.

But that’s how it is now, a thief in our city, and in a stolen car, fleeing, and we can’t chase.

The rats that killed his dog should be dealt with severely. Bring back public caning and lashing I say. It’s time we stop coddling scum and start doing what their daddy’s didn’t do, a good beating along with being locked up for a long time.

My hat is off to the SEAL. I’m glad he was able to catch those rats. They probably needed to be shot, I salute him for showing restraint. I’m glad he didn’t plow anybody, that would probably weigh heavy on him had he injured any innocents.

Bring back the days when we were tough on criminals.

As is mine.

But that’s how it is now, a thief in our city, and in a stolen car, fleeing, and we can’t chase.

I agree it is stupid, I just don't want a hero to go to jail because of the liberal hell that we now live in.

‘’liberal hell’’ .. that about sums it up. Though I can’t imagine that the Great State of Texas is going to put up with liberalism for very long. At least I hope not because it’s one of the states I’m considering moving to.

Those morons are lucky to be alive.

Very lucky indeed.

Too bad he didn't have an M-4 Carbine, even a semi-auto version, instead of a 9 mm pistol. Might be 3 less thugs to prey on innocent people as some sort of game.

They are also lucky the police caught them first. Without the presence of the police, he might have beat them to death after disarming them, especially if they talked smack to him without the police there, as they did with them present.

After reading this story the BATFE may try to look him up in the middle of nowhere, to take away his guns. In their eyes, he must obviously be mentally disturbed, since he fell back on his training (they'll ignore that he also fell back on his (self) discipline) , and they can probably find some out of context snippet from his service record to "prove" it.

Who's got the popcorn?
