TAKE BACK TOLEDO LEADERS TO DELIVER RECALL PETITIONS TO GOVERNMENT CENTER

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 7, 2009 Contact: Brian Schwartz (419) 276-2183 bschwartz60@gmail.com

WHO: Thomas Schlachter and the leadership of TAKE BACK TOLEDO

WHAT: Delivery of petitions containing sufficient signatures to place the recall of Toledo Mayor Carleton S. Finkbeiner, Mayor of the city of Toledo on the September 15 ballot

WHERE: One Government Center. Volunteers and supporters will gather on the plaza. The petitions will be delivered to the Clerk of Toledo City Council, Gerald Dendinger in the lobby of One Government Center.

WHEN: Thursday, April 9, 2009, 2:30 PM

WHY: The Leadership of Take Back Toledo formally launched the effort to recall Toledo Mayor, Carty Finkbeiner on January 12, 2009. The charter provides those seeking recall 90 days to gather a number of signatures equal to 25 percent of those who voted in the last municipal election (2005). Day 90 occurs on Saturday, April 11. Therefore, having met and exceeded their goal, Take Back Toledo officials will deliver petitions on Thursday, April 9 -- the last work day of the week with Friday, April 10 being a municipal holiday.

Leadership of Take Back Toledo cited among their reasons for seeking recall: Conducting the business of the City of Toledo virtually without regard for fiscal responsibility; sanctioning and promoting several unsuccessful real estate transactions which have unnecessarily cost, and will continue to cost, the city of Toledo millions of dollars; refusing to meet and/or cooperate with business people interested in locating or expanding enterprises and job opportunities in the City of Toledo; bringing embarrassment and shame to the City of Toledo; creating an adversarial environment toward citizens, business interests, City of Toledo employees, neighboring municipalities, and fellow elected officials; and repeatedly circumventing spending limits on his authority.

Mr. Schlachter and members of the Take Back Toledo team will be available to the media immediately following the delivery of the petitions.

Fink is an idiot. Good luck “taking back Toledo”...I don’t know who in their right mind keeps voting to re-elect the man.
