N. Korea: U.S. Searching for 82 Pieces of Payload Debris near Hawaii

Munhwa Ilbo 04/07/09

U.S. and Japan are set out to recover N. Korean rocket (debris) that fell on Pacific.

Koo Sang-chan, a lawmaker from (ruling) Hannara Party and a member of Diplomatic and Trade Affairs Committee at National Assembly, said during Apr. 7 question session to government, "(N. Korea's rocket payload) fell into sea 1,500 miles to the east of Hawaii in 82 pieces of debris, and U.S. Navy ships are now searching for them."

Japanese Defense Ministry is also searching for first level booster rocket, focusing in the area where it is thought to have fallen, that is, 330 km to the west of Akita Perfecture, according to Jiji press on Apr. 6.

For Americans and Japanese who are concerned about N. Korea's long-range missile capabilities, rocket debris are the only route to examine N. Korea's rocket technology (in detail.) Furthermore, there is an increased possibility that this could prompt civilian salvage operators to join the recovery efforts for commercial gains.

Is it possible that one of these pieces would end up on e-bay for sale? :-)

The article says East, but I am not exactly what he meant. Probably N.E. of Hawaii?

My thought exactly. Would mean that west coast is in range?

ABC showed a graphic that depicted the maximum physical range of one of these missiles assuming the technology worked properly. Looked like it could get all the way to Phoenix. That puts the entire Western US within range. And my guess is a rocket of this type launched from Venezuela, would be able to reach the entire Eastern United States. So the Puppetss (Iran, North Korea and Venezuela) of the true Axis of Evil (Russia and China) can now attack the United States, Free Asia and Europe with Nuclear weapons without a fear of a counter strike. One assumes in this case that the people of North Korean, Iran and Venezuela are being classified as expendable by the Axis of Evil. A fairly well thought out strategy that cannot be stopped at this point in time short of a military coup within the US.

Probably meant west. That’s a range of 3500 miles.

Agreed. During the last eight long years, Bush did little to nothing about these three while wasting huge resources in rebuilding Iraq. And Obama promises to be much worse. The only thing that could help us now is if Japan goes Nuclear, in a role analogous to Israel.

We spent a lot of money in Iraq, but most of those funds were servicing the House of Saud interests. US foreign policy toward Israel will also be primarily determined by our King. And I am not referring to Obama. Japan policy will be determined by the Chicom Dynasty. Our policy toward Columbia will probably be determined by the same mafia thugs who will determine our policy toward Eastern Europe. Being massively in debt sucks.

They better hope those pieces float because it’s a long way to the bottom of the Pacific.

Maybe they could refit the Glomar Explorer and send her out to have a closer look.

Taking care of our lenders. It's the American way. :-(

Being massively in debt sucks.

And there are people in power who want it that way, and I don't mean Americans.

And that is the problem. We have been sold out to foreign interests. Actually there is another way out, hyperinflation, but that would cause about as much pain as a default.

"And my guess is a rocket of this type launched from Venezuela, would be able to reach the entire Eastern United States."

Hmmm! Was afraid of that...worst part is that I live east of D.C.......darned prevailing winds will do me in.

Of course if they over shoot into the Chesapeake Bay, the 5-foot high tide tidal surge of hurricane Isabel, that buried the lower portion of my house, will seem like nothing compared to the resulting 200-300 ft surge that will be generated.

Can a senior citizen learn to use a surfboard sufficiently?
Or am I stuck with the "mote"?
