The last time Patrick Moroney saw his Cessna Stationair 206, it was flying away from a rural airstrip in Mulege, Mexico - hijacked by gun-toting drug runners who left him and his stunned family abandoned beside a burning car.

there was no way I am getting my family out of this plane with a propeller moving.

They told me I was going to die

Kim Moroney called then-U.S. Sen. Larry Craig's staffers. They promised to help but nothing happened.
But less than two hours after her initial conversation with one of then-U.S. Rep. Bill Sali's employees, the congressman called back.
"He called from D.C. and told us we were his No. 1 priority," she said. "Within hours, we got a phone call from the U.S. consulate. They said, 'It appears you and your husband know the right people, because we have been forced to order you a border letter.'"

Great read about some of the issues US Citizens go through when they are the victim of crime in Mexico. Not only from the Mexican government, but also our own.
OMG Did they think that was funny????
And the rest of us can rot for all they care..
Why do people even go to Mexico these days let alone fly a private plane down there ...
Interesting, Craig’s staffers blew them off, it seems. Someone who had been in office awhile. Get ahold of Sali’s people, and they help, someone who hasn’t been in office long.
Never sent them down there its a personal problem!
Never go to Mexico.
**Why do people even go to Mexico these days **
There are those (liberals) who think they are ABOVE such noise..
they didn’t listen when the College students were told, it’s not SAFE to take Spring Break in MEXICO.
Sound’s like you are LUCKY TO BE ALIVE .. and you’re WHINING???
Gotta be a Democrat!
Mexico is a cesspool - why go there?
Actually, besides Craig (if someone had jumped to the front of the line to the bathroom he would have been all over it), we have some legislator’s in Idaho who do care about the little guy. At least they tried. Not like Fat Jack-ass Murtha.

Never go to Mexico.
Got that right.
Twenty-Five years ago the FBO I flew for prohibited any of our aircraft from going to Mexico for any reason. Of course, I was the one who made that rule...
No one in their right mind who knows anything about the place would take such an asset there. It would be at risk the entire time.
There are more stories to tell, but it would fill a book. This guy should feel lucky to be alive, that's all.
Sure, barely get out with his children alive and he didn't learn his lesson. How many times did he and his wife vote for Hussein?
Early and often?
Well maybe when he gets his new plane hijacked he’ll learn. Maybe.
I've only crossed the Big Pond twice, once to Italy and once to England, and never gone to Mexico. Nevertheless, whenever I go outside of the U.S., I treat my passport as physically a part of me and am constantly paranoid if I can't touch it at any time. These folks really blew it by putting their passports in a backpack.
More money than brains?
If we knew the N-number we could be on the lookout...
