Yep, that’s a good thought. One of the mistakes that we made in Iraq is thinking that everybody, especially Saddam’s military, would be ecstatic when Saddam was gone and do anything for us. (I’m not trying to trash the war in Iraq or say we shouldn’t be there.) On the same note, there’s probably East Germans who want things to go back to the old USSR regime.
That’s not what I meant at all. I’m saying that Putin and Co. probably have a little to do with this.
